Plan-Quest is a one-stop web-based resource--supported by online and in-person consulting---which helps you prepare and manage successful long term plans, including Comprehensive School Wide, School Improvement, and Unitary Plans. Plan-Quest is also useful for the review and preparation of operational plans such as Academic Intervention Services, Accountability, Comprehensive System of District Personnel Services (special education), Professional Staff Development, School Safety and Crisis/Emergency Management and Technology Plans.
Plan-Quest offers:
- Convenient and cost-effective access to web-based resources, tools and online information,
- Easy access to advice and assistance from a team of experts,
- Online and in-person support and services customized to address the specific needs of each member,
- An online Comprehensive Planning Readiness Survey which prospective clients can use to determine the extent of their need for comprehensive planning,
- A password-protected Plan-Development Template designed using No Child Left Behind Act and state department of education guidance, and
- Link to our companion product Grant-Quest our grant development resource available at www.grant-quest.com.
The Plan-Quest Service provides or supports planning coordinators or facilitators with eight distinct features:
- Information collection and organization for planning, available at the click of the mouse
- Effective communication among planning participants and others through e-mail use
- Use of process management tools during plan development
- Operational plan review that identifies commitments to be included in the new plan(s)
- Development of goals and strategies, based upon local, state and federal No Child Left Behind Act guidelines
- Development of implementation detail(s) for each strategy of each goal, based on the need for increased academic achievement by students, commitments contained in existing documents and the guidance of federal and state agencies.
- Development of performance and process measures for effective and rapid understanding of student performance progress and organizational viability
- Communication of the product
Plan-Quest provides members with password protected Plan-Development Templates consisting of three parts:
Part 1 - A Repository to store and organize all information needed for data-driven decision-making based on student academic achievement and commitments contained in existing strategic and operational plans and other documents, such as the Consolidated Application. Further information and examples of documents stored in the Repository can be viewed at Document Storage.
Part 2 - A Communications Center with resources, which link planning team members to other Internet sites containing needed information or guidance for plan development or to the Process Management Tools identified below:
- An Events Calendar to house the dates, times and titles of all plan development activities
- An Agenda-Setter to provide team members with advanced notice of meetings and the issues requiring their attention
- A Minutes-Maker to list participants and record progress. These minutes are also resources, which can be used to demonstrate that the Consolidated Application was developed through the collaborative efforts of LEA personnel and parents in support of targeted or at-risk students
- Reader Comment Center to provide the opportunity for readers to offer feedback as the plans are developed
Part 3 - A Plan Navigation System to be used by the planning coordinator or facilitator, to monitor the developmental progress, review guidance, and record content for each part of each plan section.
- Organization for Planning - As members address each part of each plan section, they are provided with guidance about requirements, references to those requirements, and the three-level Plan-Quest Rubric to support their identification of the starting and desired ending planning status of their plan management process. The parts of each section included in the rubric-driven system can be viewed by linking to Plan Organization.
- Work Area Pages for content development with supporting resources, which include:
- A Text Box provided for each part of each section to record content information,
- Internal links to Previous Section, Next Section, Close, Home, and appropriate Forms,
- Printing capability for the full contents of each page, and
- Tables, which support team facilitation, with space for focused information gathering.
Final Print Copy-Using the Plan-Quest Service the final product may be developed in at least two formats as a:
- Web-based document by printing work area pages, or
- Word-based document by printing the formatted version.
